About Me
I just graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Platteville with a degree in Computer Science with an Emphasis in Computer Technology.
I've worked part time for the University of Wisconsin - Platteville as a Web Developer under the supervision of Daniel M. Frommelt.
So how did I get into web development? I started in 1998 in High School I thought having my own web site would be cool, so I went around looking at other sites and taking the HTML code from them and putting them in my own. If it worked great! If not, I'd mess around with the code until it displayed the way I wanted it.
Back then and even to this day I never thought GUI HTML editors were that great. They put in extra stuff in the code that didn't need to be there and it took me longer to change things in them than in notepad or any text editor.
From June 2001 till December 2005 I worked at the web development office and learned more about HTML and what to do and what not to do. This helped me refine my own pages to load faster than before. Soon after that we stumbled on xHTML, CSS and World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
The Web Standards opened up a lot of doors for us by helping us make a template that does not use a table layout and separate content from layout to speed up layout changes in the future.
Goals of this site is to display what can be done in xHTML and CSS separating content from style to make it easier to maintain and overall smaller web site to save the users time and the site owner bandwidth and server space.
